  Who are we ?  
     
 

About CMIESI :

The Moroccan Center for Interdisciplinary Strategic and International Studies is a think tank dealing with strategic issues of Moroccan diplomatic, political and international nature, but also  that of  other countries and  geopolitical areas. It is a center for reflection, study, research and multidisciplinary expertise which benefits from the public.
Also, the Centre contributes significantly to sustainable development in Morocco, Africa and the Mediterranean from the means at its disposal, the contacts he was able to secure and maintain since its inception, publications and actions of its three hundred members (from all continents). The Centre was founded in March 2007 by Professor Abdelhak Azzouzi who has been chairing it ever since.

It is quite remarkable to find that people in over 107 countries have access, according to latest statistics from Google (June 2011), the website of CMIESI and duration of consultation average (time spent on the site) is 4: 12 min. This reinforces the position of CMIESI as a think tank and as a forum for reflection and maturity of ideas among rthe world most prominent research centers and gives credibility to its actions, publications, forums, the discussion it generates, and the scholarly solutions it proposes.
Team CMIESI consists of three hundred members, including more than forty different nationalities. Its many relationships with universities, institutes, think tanks and maturity of ideas, the CMIESI has a network of experts around the world, allowing it to expand its fields of activity.

Placed under the Dahir of 15 November 1958 as amended and supplemented, the CMIESI is a non profit organization. It is a scientific association, cultural, academic and social non-profit which is funded by contributions of its members, grants, aid and donations which may be granted by the government or any other institution of public or private character

Objectives of CMIESI :

1. Contribution to a better understanding of decisions and actions in foreign policy and security.

2. Analysis the current reconstruction of the international post-bipolar system, its actors, and its functioning.

3. Deepening strategic studies with reference to the internal-external link.

4. Cooperation with national and international organisations with similar concerns.

The realisation of these objectives will be pursued through all appropriate means including in particular :

1. « CMIESI » Consultancy : Realisation, for the benefit of public or private organisations,  of strategic studies and in-depth notes meant to constitute real key instruments for decision making within the framework of  internationally oriented development.

2.« CMIESI » Training : professional training of actors in their field of specialisation, and private beginning high-level training for students.

3. « CMIESI » Colloquium : Organisation of scientific meetings (forums, seminars, conferences, etc.)

4. « CMIESI » Publication : publication of  works (books, co-authored books, reports, strategic notes, etc.)

Areas of geographic interest :

Taking into consideration the areas of geographic interest of each of the different members of the center which constitute a fairly diversified sample of countries and regions, and also taking into consideration the geopolitical nature of these interests, five main areas delimit the scope of competence of  “CMIESI”  (which does not exclude in any way the possibility of other areas being considered)

1. The Arab region (the 22 member states of the Arab League)
2. The Spanish-speaking region.
3. The euro-Atlantic region.
4. The Anglo-Saxon region (United States and Great Britain)).
